Yoga Classes

Our classes are open to all, regardless of age or previous experience with yoga.

At Alska, our Yoga classes are thoughtfully designed as mindful flows, built on gradual sequencing and guided by alignment cues to help you move with intention and awareness. As a student at Alska, you are always in control of your practice. We offer a range of classes to suit different needs and preferences. You can experience fitness-focused flows that build endurance and strength, or explore alignment-based practices with a more traditional approach to yoga. We also offer slow flow classes, where poses are held for longer periods to deepen mobility and flexibility, as well as restorative sessions centered on meditation and mindfulness to promote relaxation and mental clarity.

Whatever your goals or experience level, our classes are here to support your journey.

Each class is designed with its own unique intention, yet all are guided by the flow of your breath. We use movement and breath as tools to deepen our connection to the body. Through the practice of mindful movement and heightened sensation, we cultivate a greater awareness of who we are and how we show up in the world.

Our Pilates Classes are here for you to build up strenght, increase flexibility while connecting with your body through the movement

Pilates, once popularized by celebrities for its ability to create a long, lean, and sculpted physique, has grown into a widely recognized fitness method. It’s known for its ability to increase body awareness, tone muscles, enhance flexibility, improve posture, and boost overall well-being. Pilates is suitable for everyone—regardless of age, gender, size, fitness level, or experience—and can help develop long, lean muscles while improving overall body composition.

While Pilates places a strong emphasis on core work, the goal is not simply to strengthen the core, but to use that strength to promote functional, sustainable movement throughout the entire body. It helps align the body’s structure and support its joints, improving both mobility and stability. What may seem like simple movements can actually be quite challenging and highly effective when performed with proper form.

As a low-impact exercise, Pilates focuses on creating strength through muscle balance and refining neuromuscular coordination. It emphasizes full-body alignment, optimal joint range of motion, and balancing opposing muscle groups. This combination helps improve posture by raising awareness of alignment and strengthening the muscles that support it.

Pilates also plays a key role in strengthening the pelvic floor, which has benefits beyond functional health—it’s linked to increased sexual health and pleasure. Baby Yoga

KIDS YOGA

Kids Yoga is an amazing opportunity for the child to practice patience, calmness and improve emotional regulation.

 

For kids, much of the stress they experience comes from navigating new environments, school tests, and the challenges of making friends and fitting in—things they are still learning to understand and manage. Often, they don’t yet know what stress is or how to cope with it.

At Alska, our goal is to equip children with effective, age-appropriate tools to help them manage their emotions. This includes breathing exercises, simple games, short meditations, and movement activities to help them release excess energy and find balance.

Yoga at Home

ONLINE SESSION

The Private Session allows you to dive deeper into yoga practice. The focus is on alignment and breath, and a special emphasis on proper technique helps you reconnect and rejuvenate your body. This is a popular one, so go ahead and book today.
